Queues of up to seven miles built up after an accident on the M25.

The inside lane of the M25 was blocked after the crash involving a car, van and lorry near Clacket Lane Services just before 6.30am.

Traffic was held for 15 minutes at 7am while the accident on the clockwise carriageway was coned off.

Congestion stretched back to Junction 4 on the M25 for Orpington.

It also caused delays for traffic on the London-bound M26.

All lanes were reopened by 8.15am but long tailbacks remained during the morning rush-hour.
