The Mini might be one of the world's most recognisable four-wheelers but now it is making a play for the two-wheeled market with a mod-inspired electric scooter.
BMW revealed its plans to recreate classic British designs in the form of an eco-friendly scooter at London Fashion Week.
Three prototype versions of the new Mini E Scooter were shown. There was a model based on the Mini hatchback prototype, another with classic British racing green bodywork and a final Union Jack scooter with a retro mod appeal.
The scooters offer smartphone snap-in adapters - so riders can use their iPhone as a sat-nav, music player or use the wireless Bluetooth.
A compact lithium-ion battery - like those found in a mobile phone - powers the scooter and it can be charged at any standard AC power point.
