Thousands of pregnancy testing kits have been recalled amid concerns the products have been giving "misleading" results to consumers.

Chinese company Guangzhou Wondfo Biotech has issued a warning and is recalling a batch of its Clear & Simple products.

It is understood nearly 60,000 of the test kits affected are on sale in the UK.

A company statement said: "The digital pregnancy test is producing a number of false positive results which is misleading to consumers."

Only products with lot number DM10220170710E are being recalled.
