THE family of a missing Kent mother have turned to a medium in an attempt to find out where she is, dead or alive.

Debbie Griggs went missing from her home in Cross Road, Walmer, near Deal, on May 5, 1999. Her white Peugeot 309 was found abandoned a week later at The Shrubbery in Walmer.

Police believe she was murdered and have made regular appeals for someone to come forward with information which could help solve the case, but with no success.

Now members of the family are hoping that Joe Power, a psychic specialising in murder and missing person cases, will lead them to the mother-of-three’s body.

The clairvoyant, who says he has helped police on several high profile murder investigations, will meet Debbie’s family in Deal this week, just days before the eighth anniversary of her disappearance.

Debbie’s mother Pat Cameron, who has been convinced from the start that her daughter was killed, feels this is their last resort.

She said: “It may seem like we are clutching at straws but we will do anything to try and find out what happened to Debbie."

Mr Power has told the East Kent Mercury he believes two people were involved in Debbie's disappearance.

He told the newspaper: “If she is dead and I can speak to her in the spirit world I will ask her if she knows her killer and their motive. I will then try and establish where she is and try to get specific information to locate her body.”

Mr Power says he will pass on his findings to Kent Police who say they did not wish to comment on the psychic’s involvement.
