THE body of a 41-year-old man from Hawkhurst has been found in a field off The Ridge, in Hastings, ending a police search.

The family of Kerry Sutch raised concerns for his welfare after he discharged himself from The Conquest Hospital in Hastings last Friday.

Mr Sutch had suffered only minor injuries in the accident in which his van had been in collision with another vehicle, but it was believed he was already depressed after suffering an earlier bereavement.

Police said they were not treating the death as suspicious. An inquest will be held.
