POLICE in Yorkshire who were growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing 61-year-old woman say she has now been found safe.

Rita Storey, from Ainsty, Wetherby, vanished at about 7am yesterday from her home. Police said she could be anywhere in the country.

She had failed to turn up for a pre-arranged doctor's appointment

Police today confirmed that she had been found in the North Yorkshire area.
