A giant sign telling people where to park in Rainham has infuriated people living in the town.
The sign was put up on the A2 by Medway Council to show where the car parks are and how many spaces each has, but residents believe it is totally out of proportion.
Several of them got in touch with the Medway Messenger to complain, saying the sign is similar in size to those on motorways.
Harry Keane, of High Elms, Rainham, has written to his ward councillor, David Carr, to complain about it.
Mr Keane said: “It’s huge. Is it meant to be seen from space?”
He added: “The monstrosity is roughly 100 times the size of a normal sign. I mean, would you like it opposite your house?”
A spokesman for Medway Council said: “One of the council’s main aims is to make it easier to travel around Medway, for both residents and visitors.
“Signs such as this are part of a significant investment by the council in achieving just that.
“By helping anyone unfamiliar with the area to quickly and easily find a place to park, these signs should reduce traffic congestion and encourage more visitors to Medway’s many attractions.
Another resident, who didn’t want to be named, added: “It’s so big you can view it on Google Earth, it’s as imposing as the Angel of the North.”
