A woman has been accused of child neglect after a house blaze which nearly killed her two young children.

Dawn Samwell, 40, of Upper Clapton Road, Hackney has been charged with two counts of child neglect.

She has been bailed to appear at Maidstone Magistrates on April 15.

She was arrested shortly after the fire in Knaves Acre, Headcorn on February 22.

Her children Kristian, six, and Emma Nash, four, were saved from the blaze by neighbours Anthony and Sarah-Jo Vane and Laura-Dee Jefferson.
