A mother has become the second victim of a house fire which also killed her husband.

Sharon Parnell died in hospital at the weekend following the blaze at her home in Main Road, Longfield, on December 29, which also claimed the life of husband Fred. Her mother, who was also rescued by firefighters, remains in hospital.

The couple's only child, a daughter named Nikita, was in Canada with her godfather when the fire broke out.
