A mother has been found dead at the same spot her partner died eight weeks earlier.

Dee Anderson, 34, of St Benedict’s Road, Snodland, was found at Leybourne Lakes, in Larkfield, at 12.30am on Friday last week.

Her partner, 19-year-old Brian Anderson, had also been found there on August 22. He had drowned. The cause of Dee’s death has not yet been confirmed.

Tragically, the couple, who had lived together for 18 months, had celebrated the birth of their daughter Alex Clara just four months ago.

Tributes to Mrs Anderson were left alongside tributes to Mr Anderson at Leybourne Lakes this week. One said: “Dee... don’t worry about the kids, we’ll look after them.”

The tributes also included a large teddy bear and other toys, and many bouquets and pots of flowers.

Police said that after an initial investigation, they were not treating Mrs Anderson’s death as suspicious.

The coroner was due to open an inquest into her death today (Friday) and a postmortem examination was carried out on Wednesday.

It is understood Mrs Anderson had four children, of which Alex Clara was the youngest, and also had an adopted son.

A friend said: “It is tragic. It’s the children you feel sorry for. Little Alex hasn’t got either of her parents now.”

Friends said she had struggled to come to terms with Mr Anderson’s death.

His parents Brian and Lesley, who moved to Gravesend two years ago, spoke of their sadness that their son’s cries for help had fallen on deaf ears among mental health services.

Mr Anderson described his son as a kid “crying out for help”.

An inquest is still due to take place into Mr Anderson’s death.
