A LITTLE boy given a new kidney three years ago may face the trauma of another transplant after he was taken seriously ill.
Tommy Warner, seven, from Gillingham, was looking forward to competing in the 2007 British Transplant Games in Edinburgh, but he became ill half way through and is now fighting an infection.
His mother Debbie, of Toronto Road, Gillingham, says her worst fear now is that her son will reject his kidney outright and they will face the battle for a suitable donor all over again.
Ms Warner said: "The worry is constant, but you just have to put on a brave face so Tommy doesn't get upset. All he keeps asking is 'mummy, why am I always ill?'"
