Crash investigators examine the scene of the accident.

A 17-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a crash on a country road near Sandwich.

The accident happened in Foxborough Hill, Woodnesborough about 9.15pm Saturday.

Police spokesman Jon Green confirmed the victim was local to the area but his name has not yet been released.

Foxborough Hill was closed for around 12 hours while forensic officers worked at the scene.
