KENT Police have appealed for witnesses after a motorcyclist died and his pillion passenger was seriously injured in road accident.

Their machine was involved in a smash with a car on the B245 Tonbridge Road at Hildenborough, near Tonbridge, at about 6.30pm on Thursday.

The female pillion passenger was taken to hospital with what are not thought to be life-threatening injuries.

The Suzuki motorbike was in a collision with a silver Kia 4x4 vehicle going in the opposite direction. The female driver of the car was not hurt.

The dead man has not yet been named. An inquest will be held.
