Motorist fights for life after crash at Barham

A van driver is fighting for his life after a serious crash this morning.

The 52-year-old has been taken to hospital with injuries described as life-threatening after the smash at Barham.

A white transit van and a black Hyundai Jetz collided on the A2 Adisham slip road at the junction with the B2046, known as the Adisham Road, at about 8.20am.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s from Folkestone, was also taken to a London hospital. Her injures are said to be serious and she is in a stable condition.

DS Scott Lynch, from Kent Police, said: "I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this collision or may have seen the vehicles prior to the incident."

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to phone 01622 798538.
