A motorist is in hospital with life-threatening injuries and one of the county's major roads is closed after a serious accident.

The crash happened at around 4am at junction 3 of the M25 going onto the A20 Swanley interchange.

The incident has caused rush hour chaos as the M20 London-bound is closed at Swanley.

Police say the road is expected to remain shut "for some hours".

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if at all possible.
