THOUSANDS of motorists were caught up in a traffic jam last night after two cars and a motorbike were involved in a crash on the M20 at Leybourne near West Malling. The accident happened shortly before 5pm and left all three coastbound lanes of the motorway blocked.

Two people were taken to Maidstone Hospital, though the details of their injuries are not yet known. The crash involved a VW Polo, a Vauxhall Carlton and a Triumph bike. The evening saw another crash on the M20, at the top of Wrotham Hill.

Shortly bwefore 10pm an ambulance was called to take one man to hospital in Swanley after a mini bus and a van collided on the London bound carriageway. The causes of both accidents are being investigated.
