A Kent MP says Ukraine's efforts to repel Russian invaders are "unbeatable" as he praised the nation's stance in the face of aggression.
Ukraine continues to be under threat from Vladimir Putin's forces which continue to attempt to overcome the combination of the Ukraine military and the remarkable fortitude from those living in the country.
This afternoon, Tonbridge & Malling MP Tom Tugendhat, who served in both the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. tweeted his support.
Responding to a news clip which showed Ukrainian women singing as they made camouflage nets to help defend their country, he said: "Armies don’t go to war, people do. Ukraine has fully mobilised - it’s military and civilian population are as one. That’s unbeatable."
In another tweet he added: "The result of total commitment means we now know how this will end - a free and sovereign Ukraine.
"The only question is how long it will take and how many more will suffer to get there. That’s the only decision Putin now has to make."
Meanwhile, the Russian president continued to stoke the flames today after announcing he had ordered his nuclear forced to be on "special alert" after the "aggressive statements" of Nato countries in recent days.
The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky also confirmed talks would take place between a delegation from Ukraine and Russia on the border with Belarus.
