Nu-folk pioneers Mumford & Sons are taking time out of a worldwide touring schedule to play a gig in the county.

The London-based four piece will perform at Folkestone's Leas Cliff Hall as part of their Gentlemen of the Road Stopover shows, which aims to play in cities not heavily toured by bands.

Led by Marcus Mumford, who is engaged to actress Carey Mulligan, the band are working on their second album, a follow-up to their successful 2009 debut Sigh No More.

The album sold more than four million copies around the world and won the band a Brit Award for Best British Album.

The group, completed by Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane, were also nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2010, for Best New Band and Best Rock Song for Little Lion Man.

Their Folkestone show takes place on Thursday, May 31. Tickets are £24.50. Buy presale tickets from Friday, April 20 at www.musicglue.com. They go on general sale from Saturday, April 21 on www.leascliffhall.co.uk or 0844 871 3015.
