Murder probe after body is found in flat at Sydenham

A MURDER inquiry has been launched following the discovery of a body in a flat.

Police were called to Lucas Court, Bell Green Lane, Sydenham, near Bromley, on Monday. The victim, who was black and believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan police said: "We believe we know the identity of the deceased but we are yet to notify next of kin and we await formal identification."

A post mortem examination was being held today at Greenwich Mortuary.
