A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Broadstairs.

The 41-year-old was taken into custody after police were called to a house in Grant Close in the town just before 1pm on Saturday.

Officers were responding to a report that a woman had been injured.

A 34-year-old woman was taken to the QEQM Hospital at Margate where she died at 1.51pm.

A police spokeswoman said: "The man and woman were known to each other."
