A 37-year-old man wanted for questioning in connection with a murder outside a Kent pub has been detained on the Costa Del Sol.

Paul Brown, from Rochester, was arrested by armed police at an address in the resort of Fuengirola.

He is wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of 29-year-old Marco Schiroli outside the Vineyard pub in Maidstone Road, Rochester, on New Year's Eve.

Mr Brown is due to appear before an investigating judge in Spain this weekend and is then expected to be taken to Madrid where Spain's National Criminal Court handles all extradition cases.

Kent police had said Mr Brown he was the only person who had not been traced from the pub on the night Mr Schiroli died.
