A 20-year-old man appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday by TV link from Elmley Prison, Sheppey, accused of murder.

Sean Maher is alleged to have killed Darren Turner, 36, who suffered multiple wounds in Wildnerness Hill, Margate, on March 31. He died in hospital the same day.

Maher, of Canterbury Road, Margate, will return to court on June 15 to enter a plea.

Peter Alcock, defending, said others had been bailed until May 20 to enable the prosecution to decide if there were to be any more charges.

Judge Jeremy Carey set a trial date for Maher for October 12. He was remanded in custody.
