Wye musicians Glen Morgan and Emily Ware with the sheep they believe looks like Bob Marley

A musical pair believe Bob Marley the sheep looks just like the legendary Jamaican singer.

Glen Morgan, from Wye - who has only just allowed himself another sheep after his beloved Peter the Bleater passed away more than a year ago - says the animal reminds him of the reggae legend.

At 10-weeks-old, Bob Marley will grow to look more like the Jamaican singer, who died in 1981.

The Soay lamb will grow a long mane of brown curls, similar to the dreadlocked of his famous counterpart.

Mr Morgan added: “He looks like Bambi but his colour and fleece is not dissimilar to that of a Rastafarian.

“At the moment, he’s settling in with Sauki the Saluki, and Ruby the Black Beauty horse. ”

The former chef said: “Peter the Bleater was here for 14 years and looked after my horse Saxon.

“People seem to remember Peter because he thought he was more human than sheep. When his obituary appeared in the paper, people seemed to really connect with him. They replied calling it ‘uplifting’, ‘made me laugh, made me cry’ and ‘brightened up my day’.”

Saxon suffered from Cushings disease, a tumour of the pituitary gland at the base of the brain, and was unable to leave the stable.

Mr Morgan, of Amage Road, turned to Peter in the hope that he could offer the horse a renewed sense of wellbeing.

He added: “I’m in a band called Remission with singer Emily Ware and she’s been quite ill lately so I said to her ‘what would you like for your birthday’ and she said ‘a sheep’.”
