Mystery death baby: 2 released

POLICE have released two people who had been helping with enquiries in connection with the death of a toddler.

Emergency services were called to a house in Gorse Avenue, Weedswood, Chatham at around 9am on Sunday. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate 19-month-old Robert Williams but he was pronounced dead on arrival at Medway Maritime Hospital.

A postmortem examination took place on Sunday afternoon but failed to reveal the cause of death.

Two people were questioned at Chatham Police Station but have now been released.

A Medway Police spokesman said: "Medway Police are liaising with a number of agencies and enquiries are ongoing surrounding the circumstances of Robert's death."
