POLICE are looking for a "mystery man" who may hold the key to the suspected murder of 21-year-old man in Thanet.

James Siddall’s battered body was found last Friday in the garden of 58-year-old David Bulleid who has since been charged with murder and remanded in custody.

A number of appeals are now being made by detectives with Thanet Police. They would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of 17 Royal Esplanade, Westbrook, at 11am on Friday, the approximate time of the killing.

They are also keen to discover the identity of a man, known only as Chris, who called at the house on the afternoon of Saturday, February 7 to buy a motorbike from Mr Bulleid.

"Chris" is thought to be aged between 17 to 19, 5ft 9ins tall, fresh faced with short mousy blond hair. He was wearing a Puffa style jacket which is thought to have been blue and was carrying a crash helmet.

The police would also like to hear from any of the victim’s friends and family who may have information which could help their investigation.

In addition, they want to hear from anyone who saw a man who was thought to be frequenting the Royal Esplanade area over the past few weeks. He is in his early 20s, about 5ft 8ins tall, stocky and has dark hair and a small goatee beard.

He was seen wearing a light coloured baseball cap, dark top, white trainers and navy tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone with information is asked to call Thanet Police on 01843 222219.

Mr Bulleid is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, February 23.
