A woman’s body has been washed up on a Kent beach.

A member of the public made the discovery near the Oval bandstand in Eastern Esplanade at Cliftonville, near Margate, at around 8.40am Tuesday.

Police confirmed at the moment the incident is being treated as an "unexplained death" and the coroner has been informed.

The woman is thought be local to the area.
