A mystery Lotto winner, only known as Mrs S has become a millionaire without ever touching a ticket.
The lucky woman was one of two ticket-holders who scooped the life-changing prize of £1,000,000 each by matching five main numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto draw on Wednesday, January 9.
Mrs S, who chose her own lucky numbers at random, played Lotto through national-lottery.co.uk and has become one of over eight million players who win each week on The National Lottery’s range of games.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: "Huge congratulations to Mrs S for winning this fantastic prize without even touching a ticket - after a few simple clicks she has become a millionaire.
“With many people leading busy lives, playing online is becoming increasingly popular.
"It means you can make sure your lucky numbers are always in the draw and your ticket is always checked.”
From November 2018, Lotto introduced new bigger, fixed cash prizes.
In an incredible draw on Saturday, December 8, seven millionaires were created in one night - two lucky ticket-holders shared the jackpot to each win just over £3.8 million, and five ticket-holders also won £1 million each by matching five main numbers and the bonus ball.
In April last year another person, a man from Kent scooped a cool £1million in the EuroMillions game.
And in August last year Maidstone couple Adam and Amy Pryor pocketed a million when they won.
The National Lottery changes the lives of winners as well as communities across the UK – players raise, on average, around £30 million for National Lottery-funded projects every week.
