When Kent hospital worker Maureen Kelly felt a little peckish she took a chocolate bar from her bag - but she soon lost her appetite when she found an emery board inside the wrapping.

The 42-year-old made the shocking discovery in a Cadbury Twirl she had bought hours earlier at a petrol station.

The Kent and Canterbury Hospital library clerk said: "I felt so sick. I cannot believe someone working in a controlled food environment can get away with this."

A Cadbury spokesman said it would investigate the find once it had received the wrapper.
