A FRESH appeal has been launched to try and identify a mystery woman whose murdered body was found 28 years ago in a Kent forest.

The charity Missing People has announced a renewed appeal for information regarding the woman who was found battered to death in Bedgebury Forest, near Cranbrook, 23 October 23, 1979.

The charity, which works with the police, coroners, hospitals and social services to resolve cases of unidentified people (alive or dead),is calling on the public to help identity her.

She was white, aged between 30 and 35, about 5ft 1ins, thin,with brown eyes and dark brown, shoulder length, straight hair. It is believed she had had at least one child.

When found the woman was wearing black shoes, a floral dress and a black polo neck jumper. It is believed that she may have originated from Eastern Europe.

Missing People has checked its missing

person’s records for clues as to a possible identity, but as yet no conclusive match has been made.
