The Kent Cricket Board has announced the formation of a new Kent women’s coaching team ahead of their defence of the ECB County Championship in 2010.
With the likelihood of radical changes to this year’s competition, the decision was taken to appoint a coaching team with international playing experience.
England captain Charlotte Edwards will take the lead role. She will be supported by her Kent and England team-mate, Lydia Greenway, and former New Zealand international Emily Drumm.
The successful cricketing exploits of Edwards and Greenway are well known but Drumm also has a tremendous international record, having played more than 100 one day matches for her country.
Jason Weaver, Kent Cricket Board’s high performance manager, said: "This is an exciting opportunity for Charlotte, Lydia and Emily.
"All three have fantastic experience and the rest of the team will benefit from their undoubted expertise.
"We enjoyed an excellent season in 2009 and this new enhancement to our coaching structure shows that we are fully committed to building on that."
