New drama group launched for pre-school stage fun

TOTS with theatrical ambitions can take that first step on stage thanks to the launch of a new drama group.

Totlites is the newest group from Spotlites Theatre Company, and hopes to attract mums, dads or carers and children aged three or four years.

Poetry and speech activities, role-play and improvisation will teach youngsters how to work in a group.

Children will also be taught the basics of mime and movement.

The five week course, which starts tomorrow, includes The Very Hungry Caterpillar puppet show and dressing up fun with Robin Hood.

The Wind and the Sun session will include mask making while a messy time is promised with Spider Man face painting.

Totlites meets on Tuesdays from 1pm to 2pm. The course costs £20 for parent and child (£25 for two siblings) and is held at Kings Theatre, 338 High Street, Chatham, (beside Gala Bingo). Youngsters can join at any stage. Call 01634 829468.
