This time around, Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler insists he will be his own man, making the call and will not be contacting his tried and trusted mentors in the game every time he needs a problem solved.
Of his previous stint in the Priestfield hot-seat, Hessenthaler said: "I was young and naive a bit and still learning.
"Normally your apprenticeship would be in the lower leagues. I went straight into the deep end at Championship level at 35.
"I’m my own man now. I live by the sword and die by the sword – I will stick to my methods and philosophy towards the game but I’ll also listen to people like Mark Robson (pictured alongside Hessenthaler) as I value his opinion."
He added: "I wouldn’t hesitate to speak to people I know, Peter Taylor, Kenny Jackett, Harry Redknapp. You phone them up and have a chat for an opinion. But I don’t have to do that as much now as I’m my own man."
