PLANS to convert part of the Corn Exchange in Rochester into a marriage centre are being considered by Medway Coumcil.

Officials want to turn the old Rochester library building into the new offices of the Registrar for Births, Deaths and Marriages.

If granted the the new premises will open early next year.

The existing office in Maidstone Road, Chatham will then be sold.
