Central defender Andy Frampton is relishing the chance of the fresh challenge given him by Gillingham.
Frampton signed a two-year deal with the Gills and with more than 100 appearances for Millwall and 164 during an earlier spell at Brentford, he brings with him a lot of experience.
He found himself joining the huge list of free agents in the summer after Millwall decided to put an end to his four-year stay.
Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler had already tried to sign him once a year before and the 31-year-old was pleased to be heading for a club that wanted him.
Frampton (pictured) said: "Gillingham have been interested in me for around 12 months and it’s been there lingering for a bit. My family live in Tunbridge Wells and so it was appealing for me as I didn’t have to move. Also, if you are wanted that’s the best way to be."
Frampton was sent out on loan to Swindon last season and didn’t figure in the Millwall team once.
"I knew my time at Millwall was pretty much over," he said.
"When they start shipping you out on loan, you know your days are numbered.
"But you get on with it and the next challenge begins here. I enjoyed my time at Millwall but that was in the past and now I have moved on and this is what I am concentrating on."
