Have you ever flirted fleetingly with a stranger and desperately wished you knew how to make contact?

It’s a scenario that Rita Macari has tried to solve with her new business which aims to reunite people who shared a special moment but parted without name or telephone number.

The Dover-based mother-of-two learned business skills from her parents’ fish and chip shop and coffee bar.

She thought a website that enabled people to trace that mystery person would provide a valuable service. It could even have just involved eye contact.

Rita recalls the experience of a friend who told her of a brief conversation with a man she met at the airport but parted with just his first name. "She is still wondering to this day if she will ever meet this mystery man again.

"There are many scenarios of this kind and I am confident that the website that I have created will be beneficial for many people."

In 2002, Rita was chosen for the New Entrepreneur Scholarship scheme - now defunct - that gave enterprising people from disadvantaged areas advice and funding to set up their own business.

"I wouldn’t necessarily say this is a flirting website," she says, "but a way to reunite and develop a relationship between two people that never happened.

"It’s not a site that allows you to connect with random people that you have never encountered, but just for people who have actually seen each other and want to evolve that relationship."
