Young midfielder Michael Richardson has been added to the Gillingham squad.

The 20-year-old joins the Gills on loan from Premier League side Newcastle United.

Richardson, who was at York to see the Gills claim a point last time out, has not played for Newcastle but has spent time on loan at Leyton Orient last season.

He played four times and scored once for Orient. Richardson goes straight into the Gills squad ahead of their game against Dagenham on Saturday.
