Dover manager Nicky Forster consulted with other player-managers before deciding to start playing again.
Forster (pictured) revealed earlier in the week he had registered himself as a player in Blue Square Bet South next season.
He said: "I have spoken to people like (former Whites and Gillingham boss) Andy Hessenthaler and (Welling player-boss) Jamie Day and they’ve said there are more pros than cons.
"I’ll listen to my assistant, Steve Brown. He’s going to need to be more involved. It’s not going to be a case of ‘I’m the manager, what I say goes’.
"At times I might start, at other times I might not be needed. We’ll see.
"I won’t join in every training session but if I’m going to do it, I’ve got to do it properly. I can’t just join in the 5-a-side at the end – I’ll take it seriously and not go in half-heartedly."
