Carnival organisers have been left red-faced after signs promoting Saturday's parade contained spelling mistakes.
Eagle-eyed road users noticed the words 'carnival' and 'expected' had been spelt incorrectly on the road-side boards.
In total eight have been placed around the town warning motorists of delays and road closures.
Sittingbourne Carnival Association chairman, Pam Griggs, said she was aware of the mistakes when they were delivered last Friday, but it was too late to do anything about it.
She said: "We had no choice but to put them out.
"The signs were organised by Trevor Arnold, who has been working with us since June, but it's all down to the company which printed them.
"Apparently they're based down in the West Country.
"If they'd come a week earlier we could have done something about it.
"They're meant to be sending us replacement signs or sticky letters to put over the mistakes but I don't know when will get them.
"I hope not too many people think we were idiots.
"I would prefer everything to go out perfectly, but hopefully it will give people a laugh. At least it's getting talked about.
"We haven't paid for them yet so we might try and get them at least half the price."
The parade was meant to be held in June but was postponed with less than four weeks to go after the association claimed the police piled extra paper work on them at the last minute.
In addition Mrs Griggs was also told they needed a new assembly point as Attlee Way, in Kemsley, wasn't suitable.
Floats will now assemble at Milton Recreation Ground in Vicarage Road, at 3pm with judging at 4pm.
The parade will leave Vicarage Road at 5pm and the procession will follow a route via High Street, Milton Regis, Crown Road, Chalkwell Road, London Road, West Street, High Street, Sittingbourne, and dispersing in East Street at about 6.30pm.
