No 'land of milk and honey' for illegal immigrant

An illegal immigrant - who came to the UK thinking it was "the land of milk and honey"..ended up doing porridge!

Albanian Eduart Shehu - whose application to visit Britain was rejected - paid 1000 Euros for a false Italian ID card.

The 28-year-old worked in the catering industry in London before getting the sack.

But when he tried to leave Britain his fake ID was spotted by customs officers in Kent as one from a batch of stolen Italian documents.

His barrister Kerry Waitt said: "England was not the land of milk and honey that he was told it was."

Instead he was given a 12 month jail sentence and told that when he is freed - he will deported.
