Charlton recorded their second win of the season thanks to first half goals from Scott Wagstaff and Paul Hayes.
Chris Powell's men edged out Notts County 2-1 in the League 1 clash at Meadow Lane despite dominating for large spells of the game.
Wagstaff continued his early season form to put the Addicks ahead after 35 minutes.
He finished off from a tight angle following a through ball from Paul Hayes and held his nerve to stay on his feet after rounding County keeper Stuart Nelson.
Just before the interval, Hayes doubled Charlton's lead with a close range finish, his first goal for the club. Bradley Wright-Phillips' cross picked out the striker after Chris Solly had opened up the Notts County defence with a well-placed long ball.
County substitute Cristian Montano reduced the deficit on the hour mark as he got a telling touch on the end of an Alan Sheehan corner, which crept in at the far post past Rob Elliot.
But, despite the home side's stirring response in the second half, Charlton took all three points away from Nottingham.
Charlton: Elliot, Solly, Morrison, Taylor, Wiggins, Wagstaff (Hughes 90mins), Stephens, Hollands, Jackson, Hayes (Euell 83mins), Wright-Phillips (Doherty 88mins). Subs not used: Sullivan, Green.
