I am off the leash - quite literally - this summer, raising more money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Last year we travelled around the county and beyond on any mode of transport raising funds - and we made an astounding £7,000 which was more than enough to pay for a guide dog and have it trained.
This year I am dressing up as a dog and will be led around by a blindfolded and costumed Tracey Stevens from Westwood Cross.
Our aim is to travel around Thanet, Sandwich and Deal in as many different ways as possible - except for car. We will be set tasks such as calling in at shops and buying things, visiting different places, maybe even having a cuppa on the end of Deal or Ramsgate pier.
I am sure we will get some strange looks on our trip, but being highly visible, colourful and daft is a sure fire way of ensuring people know what we are all about.
It will be a real tough challenge but great fun too. So if you see a nice young lady wandering around your neighbourhood or town with an oversized dog trailing behind - or even running in front - spare a thought, be generous and help us on our way to buying a second guide dog.
Mind you, there are those who would warn Tracey not to let me out on too long a leash. You never know where Johnny the dog may end up - shocking!
Catch up with Johnny on 107.2 FM every weekday and Saturday from 6am-10am and every Sunday on The Vinyl Years from 7pm.
