We're on the road again this week as we tackle Stockport on what is a beach of a pitch.

It’s a different challenge and the game will probably not involve a lot of total football.

We’ll have to go there and make sure we’re on our game because they are a different side to the one we beat at home.

They’ve signed a number of good loan players and have improved their results since so we will have to be ready.

We had a big result on Saturday and it was one which I felt we thoroughly deserved.

We put a lot of hard work in during the week to prepare for Huddersfield.

We knew we had to start the game quickly and press them as much as possible after they had a disappointing result on Tuesday night.

We managed to get the important early goal thanks to that pressure and tempo which we started with.

Millsy charged the ball down deep in their half and flicked the ball into Jacko, who turned and spanked a great strike into the bottom corner from 25 yards. It showed Simeon’s instinctive knack of scoring goals by striking it early and cleanly.

We kept up the tempo and pressure so much so that one of their players snapped. It was a terrible tackle on Stew and the referee made the right decision instantly.

After that some may have thought that the result was a forgone conclusion but Huddersfield haven’t been in the top six all season for no reason.

They’ve got very talented players and a will to win, which they showed after going down to 10 men, and we had to stay concentrated and disciplined to maintain our lead.

We went in at half-time a goal up and the gaffer re-inforced the game plan to press and keep the tempo high.

We came out flying again and scored early again as Jacko showed a clean pair of heels, racing away from the back four, to slide a great finish into the corner and give us that all important second goal.

We continued to create chances and probably should have won the game by more in the end but we were very content with a clean sheet and the 2-0 win. The win gives us a five-point gap from the relegation zone which we don’t want to lose.

Hopefully we can make that gap bigger as the season progresses and there is no reason why we can’t.

It was nice to link up with Barchy again last Saturday.

We played virtually every game together and built up a great understanding last season and I think that we linked up well again against Huddersfield.

He has been out of the team recently which I think he might have needed.

He played a lot of games last year and a lot this year. Bearing in mind his age, like Curt and Jacko, I think it was good to have time out to get himself hungry and ready again to tackle the rest of the season.

The gaffer never does anything without reasoned thought and planning behind it and I think with Jacko, Barch and Curt having a little time out of the team you will see the best of them from now until the end of the season.

It’s another trip on a Friday night for us so I’ll be cuddling up to Millsy again in our room.

We’ve had some good chats about the solar system and space recently and he was doing his revision on Sunday, texting me all night about a programme he was watching which has armed him with knowledge to blow me away!
