Tributes for school teacher Mrs Frankie Cappuccini, who died giving birth to her second child
Tributes have poured in after a much-loved primary school teacher tragically died after giving birth.
Frankie Cappuccini, a popular teacher at Offham Primary School, suffered a haemorrhage after her baby was delivered by Caesarean section on Tuesday morning.
Staff at Offham Primary School, near West Malling, were described as "shell shocked" at the 30-year-old's death.
The Church Road school was today reopened, after it shut yesterday following the death of Mrs Cappuccini, pictured left.
An email was sent to parents earlier this week, informing them of the news, and the decision to close the school.
Tributes have been paid to Mrs Cappuccini - known to the youngsters as Mrs Coffee because of her hame.
She died shortly after giving birth to a little boy, who is said to be doing well.
A book of condolence was opened at nearby St Michael’s Church and tearful villagers of all ages filed in throughout the day to leave flowers and personal messages.
One friend and former work colleague said: “She was the most wonderful person and teacher; beautiful inside and out.
“I can’t express enough how selfless, thoughtful and kind Frankie was, what an amazing teacher she was and how much of a loss this is.”
Paula Botha, whose son Troy was taught by her last year, said: “It is such a tragedy for this to happen, and to such a wonderful person just makes it feel so much more of a tragedy.
“She was an amazing teacher and an amazing individual and we are all going to miss her very much - her family, the schoolchildren, fellow teachers, parents and friends.”
Kent County Council area education officer David Adams said: "We have received the sad news that Frances Cappuccini, a teacher at Offham Primary School, died yesterday.
"Frances was a much-loved teacher and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and the school community."
A note has been placed on the school gates asking that floral tributes are not be placed outside, but taken to Offham Church.
A statement on the school's website said: "Our thoughts are with her family at this time."
Mrs Cappuccini taught pupils in the Year 1 Blue class.
