A simple remembrance service has been held at the National Memorial to the Few at Capel-le-Ferne to mark Armistice Day.
The short wreath-laying service was organised by the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust's longest-serving active trustee, Flight Lieutenant Bernard Hyde
It has been held at the memorial each year since 1993.
The service is the result of a personal request from Wing Commander Geoffrey Page, a 20-year-old Hurricane pilot with 56 Squadron during the Battle of Britain who was the driving force behind the memorial to the Few being unveiled in July 1993.
The 11am tribute was attended by the Rev Sue White, from Capel-le-Ferne, who offered to officiate at the Remembrance Day service when she met Fl Lt Hyde at this year's Memorial Day in July.
Speaking before the service, Fl Lt Hyde said: "It will be a very simple tribute.
"I have no music and no bugler, just my Orderly Officer's whistle to sound 11am for the silence.
"Wreaths will be laid on behalf of the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust, the site volunteers and Folkestone RAFA.
"We would love members of the public to join us in this tribute as this 70th anniversary year draws to a close."
