Old Gravesendians successfully defended their Kent Vase title defeating Medway 20-12 in the final at Canterbury.

Kent 1 runners-up Gravesendians were favourites to defeat Kent 2 champions Medway, and they opened the scoring when Marcus D’Cunha touched down.

Minutes later Matt Holdstock scored under the posts, and Richard Oxtoby converted for 12-0.

Medway fought back when David Soledolu broke to score, with Dafydd Ruffell converting to make the half-time score 12-7.

Holdstock scored his second try after the break, followed by an Oxtoby penalty, before Medway pulled back to 20-12 with a try from Rob Ellis.

Tunbridge Wells clinched the Kent Plate following a 37-7 win over Beckenham at the same venue.

The London 2 South sides had already met twice this season, with Wells winning both of those games and they made it a hat-trick of wins, after dominating the game at Canterbury’s Merton Lane ground.

James Gwinnett’s try gave Wells the lead but a converted effort from Julian Rogers put Beckenham 7-5 ahead.

It was the last time Beckenham had the lead and by the break Mike Doherty scored to put Wells 12-7 in the lead.

Further tries from Rob Harrison, Ryan Le Roux and a couple of penalty kicks from Charlie Harding put the game beyond Beckenham.

Craig Hulls scored a consolation try but the game was wrapped up by Wells with another converted try from their backs.

Sittingbourne won the Kent Salver defeating Park House 13-9.
