It's going to be a busy week for lawyer Pete Kenyon... to put it mildly.
For after playing drums in tonight's Olympics closing ceremony - expected to be watched by billions and with a cast of thousands - he's set to tie the knot on Saturday.
But it hasn't exactly been an easygoing time for the legal eagle.
Pete, who works for Vertex Law in Kings Hill, West Malling, was also one of hundreds of drummers playing their hearts out at the opening ceremony.
He performed in the section on the Industrial Revolution in Danny Boyle's epic showstopper.
Pete, who grew up in Hawkhurst and attended Kings School, Canterbury, is the law firm’s partner specialising in technology issues.
He volunteered to take part in the spectacular after a friend told him auditions were being held for drummers, and that no previous experience was required.
“I knew the opening was going to be a huge event and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I wanted to be part of,” he said.
“I decided to give it a bash and was delighted to be chosen.
"It has been phenomenally demanding trying to fit in all the practice and rehearsals but it was 100 per cent worthwhile.
"Being at the Opening Ceremony was like nothing I have ever experienced. It was unbelievably exciting and the adrenaline flow was amazing.”
Pete gets married to Beatrice on August 18.
