Tommy Forecast insists he is content to be playing a bit-part role for Gillingham.
The on-loan Southampton keeper, pictured, made only his third appearance for the Gills on Saturday when he replaced the suspended Stuart Nelson for the FA Cup defeat at Preston. But it’s a situation the 26-year-old is happy to live with.
He said: "It felt good out there to play for 90 minutes and get a game under my belt. It was a big game for us and the FA Cup made it even more special.
"Myself and Stuart have a good professional relationship and he has done well and the team has done well.
"I have no complaints on that and it is just good to be part of a successful team – we’re working hard together. You have to be professional."
Forecast has been with the Gills since the summer, moving as part exchange on a season-long loan when Paulo Gazzaniga left for St Mary's. His only other start for the club came in September’s JPT defeat at Crawley.
Nelson is likely to return for the League 2 trip to Rotherham, but Forecast won’t be sulking.
"You just don’t know what’s going to happen," he added. "You always have to be on your toes and prepared."
