Josh Wright celebrates at Wembley Picture: Matthew Walker
Midfielder Josh Wright has plenty to think about in the summer.
Wright is out of contract at Charlton but an impressive eight-game loan spell at the Gills means the 19-year-old will be in demand.
A permanent switch to Gillingham hasn’t been ruled out and with the Addicks suffering relegation this season it looks like he’ll be playing League 1 football with someone.
"It looks like that way, but we’ll just have to wait and see where that is," he said. "I came here looking to play games and there’s nothing better than this.
"The boys are a great bunch of lads and I’ve really enjoyed my time at the club."
Wright was only on the losing side once for Gills and he was thrilled to help them get promoted.
He said: "It’s a great way to end the season and there is nothing better than winning promotion.
"In the first half we played well and we were moving the ball very well. In the second half they came at us a bit but, as the game wore on, the fitter team came through and we looked like the side that was going to score.
"It was a great time to get the goal and a great finish."
