On-loan Manchester United striker Febian Brandy hopeful of returning to the Gillingham side to face Stockport

Febian Brandy is confident he will be fit to face Stockport at Priestfield on Saturday.

The on-loan Gillingham striker has recovered from his thigh injury and is hoping to be in the frame to link up with leading scorer Simeon Jackson again.

Brandy has missed the last two games and has just five more matches left of his loan spell from Manchester United.

"I feel good and can’t wait to get back involved," said Brandy, who has been doing his rehabilitation at United.

"Hopefully I’ll be back playing on Saturday. I’ve done a light session at United and had some laser treatment which has worked wonders.

"There are a lot of fixtures between now and January so I hope I can get as much playing time as possible.

"Our home form has been superb. We’re not underestimating anyone in this league but we’d love a big win at home to give the fans something to talk about."

Manager Mark Stimson will also have Curtis Weston available again after he missed last Saturday’s defeat at Huddersfield for personal reasons.

Stimson will also have Reading youth keeper Simon Locke on the bench after clinching the academy player on a youth loan deal.

Defender Josh Gowling serves the second of a two-match ban.
