Loan striker Febian Brandy is expected to be back training with Gillingham early next week.
The Manchester United youngster (pictured), who is on loan at Priestfield, injured his thigh muscle at Leyton Orient.
There were fears that he would have to sit out the remainder of his loan move but his injury is healing fast.
Stimson won’t rush him back, however, and is targeting between two and three weeks to see the 20-year-old back playing in a Gillingham shirt.
"I have spoken to him and he’s improving," said Stimson. "The games come thick and fast over Christmas and we need to be careful we don’t bring him back too soon.
"We’ll just go by what Manchester United’s guidelines are. He said he felt good and he’ll start training next week and playing in two to three weeks if there is no reaction.
"His deal goes until the Swindon away game (Saturday, January 16) but we don’t want to rush him back. If you do that with strains it could turn from two to three weeks into a four to six week absence."
